Summary
We collect only what we need to tell you when Pickup launches, give you your founding member offer, track referrals and, once we're live, carry out your bookings. We never sell your data. You can ask us to see it or delete it at any time by emailing admin@pickuptaxi.co.uk.
1. Who we are
Pickup ("we", "us", "our") is a private hire transport service run by PickupTaxi, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

- Whether you have a trip coming up, and what you'd mainly use Pickup for
- The name of anyone who referred you (if you tell us)
- Your consent choices, the date you signed up, and where you found us (for example, a link from Instagram or a flyer)
When you register interest in driving with us
- Your contact details and any information you choose to give us about your licence, vehicle and experience
When you book with us (once we launch)
- Pickup and drop-off addresses, journey date and time, flight number, number of passengers and luggage

We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. You must be 18 or over to join the waiting list or book a trip. If you're booking for a child, you provide their details on their behalf.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
| What we do | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
| Send you launch news and your founding member offer by WhatsApp, text or email | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Track referrals and apply referral credit | Legitimate interests (running our referral scheme fairly) |
| Understand which towns and airports to start with | Legitimate interests (planning our service) |
| Take, carry out and manage your bookings, and handle payments | Performance of a contract with you |

| Handle complaints, prevent fraud and keep passengers and drivers safe | Legitimate interests and legal obligation |
| Keep accounting and tax records | Legal obligation |
We will only send you marketing if you've agreed to it. Every message tells you how to stop them. You can also reply STOP or email us.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted services that help us run Pickup, and only as much as they need:
- Tally, which runs our waiting list form
- Netlify, which hosts this website
- Google Fonts, which provides the fonts on this website (your browser connects to Google to load them)
- Messaging providers such as WhatsApp, SMS and email services, used to contact you
- Our booking app and payment providers, once we launch
- Our drivers, who see only what they need for your journey, such as your name, pickup point and phone number
- Our accountant and professional advisers
- The licensing authority, police or other public bodies, where the law requires it
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
5. How long we keep it
- Waiting list details: until 12 months after we launch, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever is sooner
- Booking records: for at least the period our private hire operator licence requires, and usually no longer than 2 years unless there is a complaint or legal claim
- Payment and accounting records: 6 years, as required by tax law
- Driver interest details: 12 months if we don't go ahead together
6. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
- ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email admin@pickuptaxi.co.uk. We'll reply within one month. There's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our waiting list form is run by Tally on its own website, and Tally may use cookies needed for the form to work. Tally's own privacy policy explains these.
If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
8. Keeping your data safe
We use reputable providers with strong security, limit who can see your information, and only give drivers what they need for your journey.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we launch bookings. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you about any important changes.
